The 15th annual Gala Concert, presented by the Delaware Commission on Italian Heritage and Culture and produced by the Italian Festival, will feature a wide selection of celebrated artists, talented musicians, and stirring works. The concert will start at 3:00PM on Sunday, June 11th, in St. Anthony of Padua Church, featuring:
- Italian Festival Orchestra
- Singers soloists and members of the choir from Catholic University of America performing Excerpts from Donizetti’s Lucia Di Lammermoor
- Dancers from Wilmington Ballet Academy of the Dance and First State Ballet performing with the Italian Festival Orchestra and with virtuoso violin soloist Alessandra Cuffaro
The 2017 Gala will feature a number of accomplished musicians from Delaware and the region. Simeone Tartaglione return as Artistic Director and Conductor, and will also serve as Artistic Director & Conductor. Educated at the most prestigious musical institutes in Italy, Simeone serves as Music Director of the Newark Symphony Orchestra and the Delaware Youth Symphony Orchestra (DYSO), and as the Conductor of The Catholic University of America’s University Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Orchestral Department head at The Music School of Delaware.
